I pulled into the multi-story car park, and once parked, I grabbed the things that I would need for the day. Namely my handbag, sash and tiara, the perfect accessories for the fuchsia-pink prom-dress that I was wearing. Now this outfit may have been a little ‘over the top’ for the town centre - even by my standards - but today was no ordinary day; today was the day of Basildon Pride - which began with a parade through the town centre to the event ground itself.
