Many people prefer to go on safari during the dry months because they do not like the rain. But in fact, the green season can be the best time to go to this southern African country.

It is outstanding value for money, as there are fewer tourists during the emerald season. This is critical considering that Botswana is one of the most expensive African destinations due to its remote lodges and the government’s decision to prioritise low-impact tourism. Even the standard and entry-level properties are pricey. These high-season rates generally apply between mid-June and the end of October, and the rates only drop again in November. But there are some amazing specials that can be accessed during the wetter months at a much lower cost.
