What was the most memorable moment on your trip?

While camping in a remote part of Cameroon, we had some items stolen, including our spotlight and shoes. When we mentioned this to a group of locals, they advised us that we should report this to the chief, so we spent a night in the village. Throughout the night, we heard drums beating, apparently a warning message for the person who had done wrong. And sure enough, when we checked in the morning, our belongings had been returned! We were blown away by the widespread influence of traditional beliefs.
