Airgun Shooter  |  January 2013
It's a rifle test bonanza this issue and the start of a new year sees Weihrauch unveil a new look to its classic underlever the HW77K. Editor Nigel Allen is rather taken by the sumptuous new woodwork, but it's more than just an aesthetic change, with the handling totally reinvented, too. In fact, we liked it so much, we're also giving you the chance to win one (worth over £390) for absolutely nothing!
We've also got a review of the totally upgraded SMK XS38 Deluxe and pit the Walther LGV head-to-head against the Hatsan AT44W-10 – the results of which might surprise a few readers. Oh, and if you need something to put on top of one of these rifles, why not check out Thom Jarrino's review of Hawke's new reticle on a Sidewinder scope.
If more full-powered hunting is your thing, be sure to read Jim Chapman's field-test of the Daystate Wolverine .303 as it tackles prairie dogs across the pond.
We hope the mag tears you away from your workshop for a few hours, but by the time you go back we hope you'll be thinking of some new gadgets to pick up in the post-Christmas sales with our guide to the best kit for your workshop, or you'll be looking to undertake David James' latest DIY project – an air bottle stand.
As always, Mat Manning and Ian Barnett are on hand to provide some hunting tips and stories, and all Airgun Shooter's regular features return for 2013.
Happy New Year and enjoy the mag…
