AIR CANADA has reached a tentative, four-year agreement with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), representing more than 5,200 pilots at the flag carrier and its low-cost Rouge subsidiary, averting a potential strike. The airline had been preparing to cancel flights amid a public stand-off over staff benefits and pay. ALPA said the offer would amount to an additional £1.06bn of value for Air Canada flight crews over the course of the agreement.
