46 lb 8 oz PIKE
Is this the next British record? The pike record hunt is really on, with the capture of this stunning 46 lb 8 oz predator. Darren Clark caught the current English record pike from Wykeham Lakes, North Yorkshire, and it quashes fears from doubters that it could be dead. The fish, which had last come out at an English record 46 lb 11 oz some 23 months ago, could easily go above the record if caught again this winter. It’s also on the edge of the long standing 46 lb 13 oz British record set in 1992 at Llandegfedd Reservoir in South Wales. Darren’s big catch ended a four year struggle on the 7.5-acre trout lake. He has now notched up TEN 30 lb-plus pike, but this was his first
from a trout water.
