THE ongoing exhibition L’Absurdité is the result of the combined effort of two dealerships from Petworth. They are Kevis House Gallery, the Lombard Street space where the exhibition takes place, and Toni Arden, back for the first time in several years having closed her local photography gallery Arden and Anstruther in 2011.
The show, running until March 28, features the work of recently retired French photographer Gilbert Garcin (b.1929). His black and white images grapple with the absurdity of the human condition using traditional techniques to create photomontages.
These usually feature Garcin wearing a grey overcoat and posed as an everyman (or ‘Mr Everybody’).
