This Ushak Star carpet fragment measuring 5ft 2in x 6ft 1in (1.57 x 1.85m) will feature in Jeffrey S Evans’ April 29 sale of antiques, decorative arts and 20th century design in Mount Crawford.
The piece, with its flowering vine design, is dated to the 17th or 18th century. It is being deaccessioned by The Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) to benefit its collections and acquisitions funds and has what the auction firm describes as a conservative estimate of $1000-2000.
