The recruitment crisis within the NHS and other agencies continues. The acute mental health ward at Argyll and Bute Hospital has been closed due to lack of nurses.
The people who are referred to this ward are in desperate need of help but now they will have to travel much further to get it.
Cost-cutting is regularly blamed for erosion of services but the problem here seems to be in attracting medical staff to Argyll.
