After 10 weeks of coaching the much-improved attendees were joined by experienced golfers from the club to play in a greensomes competition on Wednesday June 20. Thirty-six golfers in total took to the course to compete for the Clubgolf Scotland under-10 trophy, the Clubgolf Scotland over-10 trophy and an additional prize for the adult coaching group.
Following the competition the golfers enjoyed a lovely supper in the clubhouse while the scores were added up and the coaches nominated their choices for most improved player in their groups. Eilidh Flanagan and her partner Jim Hunter romped in to win the under-10 trophy. Father and son duo, Euan and Steven Gilmour, won the over-10 trophy. The adult winners were Susie McLean and Douglas Whyte. Most improved players were Eilidh Flanagan, Callum Paterson and Melanie MacLean.
That’s the end of coaching for this year, watch this space for next year’s dates. The club is looking forward to seeing the new players on the course, some of whom are already playing in competitions.
