The Kildonan and District Sheepdog Association recently held their 45th annual sheepdog trials at Whitehills, Brodick, in mixed weather over two days.
Competing in the event on the first day were Arran handlers in the confined class which saw a healthy field of nine entrants taking part. Confined class trophy winners from the earlier Dougarie trials at Glenloig, Niall McMaster and Mathew McNeish, were among those who competed against the next generation of shepherds, with 12-year-old Donald Currie putting in a fine performance with Meg. The open competition was held the following day.
