Driving business for the island, chief executive of VisitArran Sheila Gilmore will be travelling to Barcelona and Madrid next week in partnership with Visit-Scotland where she will be promoting Arran as a tourist destination.
The business development mission to Spain will foster interna tional relations with the country. Spain is Scotland’s fifth largest overseas market with the country welcoming 146,000 visitors in 2015. Spanish visitors contribute £105 million a year to the Scottish economy.
Last month VisitArran took part in a similar trip to Amsterdam which it said had been a great success.
