Volunteer fire leader Charlie McAllister of Sliddery has turned off his pager and decided to call it a day after 31 years and nine months service to the parish of Kilmory and Arran.
Charlie has played a significant role in maintaining the operational cover on Arran, and in particular as a volunteer, deputy volunteer leader and finally volunteer leader. Charlie is well known throughout the southend, and has many a tale of the various fires and rescues he has been called to over the years.
Charles McAllister receives his certificate of service and commemorative tally from group manager Hugh Strachan.
