Four pupils from Whiting Bay Primary have won praise from judges at a nationwide competition.
The team won a special commendation at the Junior Saltire Awards for their wave energy converter invention, which uses wave power to create electricity.
The team – consisting of Dario Devisme, Grace Crichton, Lori Prescott and Cameron McCallum – received the prize at SCDI’s Celebration of Engineering and Science at the Glasgow Science Centre, winning a cash prize of £200 for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) resources at their school.
