There was a healthy entry this year for the Isle of Arran Ormidale 10K on Sunday.
The first official Scottish 10-kilometre race of the season saw runners from Arran joined by competitors from a number of Ayrshire running clubs and from as far afield as Manchester. A field of 59 entrants raced the scenic and flat route from the Ormidale Sports Pavilion to Merkland Point and back in conditions which were perfect for running, dry and bright but not too warm.
The race was sponsored by the Ormidale Hotel and Arranshand Business Development Services which, along with the invaluable help of Paul Emsley and a host of marshals, ensured that the race went off without a hitch.
