Breakwater bill

Having just seen details of a massive £300 million extension to Aberdeen Harbour, I am wondering whether the modest breakwater Peel Ports was not going to build at Ardrossan at a cost of £100 million was going to be built with hand-crushed Bentleys, silver ingots or maybe Italian marble, not boring old concrete or rock?

The cost did surprise me somewhat when I read that last week but I am not a civil engineer, or even particularly civil, but whoever is building the port in Nigg Bay looks like a better value contractor than whoever Peel Ports has consulted, or are we just being fed one of those very fashionable ‘post truth’ statements?
