Arran Riding Club members held their annual junior show recently when 10 ponies and their riders came to the Mayish in Brodick on the Wednesday night to challenge themselves and their ponies to some fun.
Each combination tackled a tricky ‘handy pony’ course, where they had to demonstrate their trust in each other and their agility; a jumping course, which tested their balance and control, and a selection of gymkhana races to finish.
The evening began with the fancy dress, kindly judged by Sally Hunter. There was a lot of effort put into the costumes, and trying to pick a winner was a tricky task. Rosie Wilkinson came out on top, dressed as bee riding Milo, dressed as a very cute flower. The club would like to thank Sally for embracing a difficult task, and say well done to the ponies for putting up with all the glitter, hats, face paint, ribbons and tutus!
