End of an era for island institutions

Two of Arran’s longestrunning hospitality establishments have closed their doors for the last time. The owners of both the Trafalgar Restaurant and Kilmichael Country House Hotel and Restaurant retire.

Stalwarts of the restaurant industry, the owners share between them more than half a century’s worth of experience on Arran, with the Trafalgar Restaurant established more than 30 years ago and the Kilm ichael starting shortly after that 26 years ago.

Pioneering the way for all that followed, the two Arran institutions have gathered a reputation that extends way beyond Arran. It goes, across the country and internationally.
