REBECCA HILLAND will end a 19-year wait for her second appearance in a Great Britain vest when she takes part in the European Mountain Running Championships in Italy next month, writes Kevin Fahey.
The 35-year-old Team Bath athlete was named in the squad after her surprise victory in the trials race the previous weekend in the Lake District.
It will be her first senior vest, having made her international debut at the 1997 European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon when as 17-year-old Rebecca Wade she finished 12th and first Brit in the under 20 women’s race.
