UNIVERSITY College London (UCL) overturned the University of Essex’s lead to claim the 2016 London Colleges Athletics Series (LCAS) title and complete a double victory of indoor and outdoor titles.
Taking place on Saturday May 28, with more than 180 athletes competing at Battersea Park, the event marks the end of the London Universities and Colleges Athletics (LUCA) season.
It was a dramatic final to the three-match series, which is now in its second year. Essex had opened a strong lead over UCL and reigning champions, King’s College London after the first two meets at Parliament Hill and Lee Valley.
