
Chris Thompson found it difficult to recover after a fast start

CHRIS THOMPSON will look to make up for the frustration of his performance in the Great North Run at the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run and Great Birmingham Run next month.
The 2010 European10,000m silver medallist was seventh in the half-marathon on Sunday September 11 with a finishing time of 63:35, but was bitterly disappointed in the aftermath as he lamented his fast early pace, having targeted a mid-to-low 61-minute time at the start.
“I went off way too hard,” said the 35-year-old, having clocked a 14:15 first five kilometres.
“I thought after three miles I felt there might have been a bit of fatigue in there or something. I got a sort of second wind back which you can do in half-marathons.
