OLYMPIAN and Commonwealth bronze medallist Matt Yates, no-nonsense coach to Elliot Giles, says the 22-year-old’s unwavering commitment is behind his rise in 2016.
“I don’t suffer fools. I don’t take a pound out of the sport so I want people who are going to give it their all. I don’t want to work with idiots,” Yates said.
“Elliot’s a classic example of someone with full commitment ... Only 100% will do. Some people don’t have 100% so we kicked them out.”
