EXMOUTH National Park will stage a unique knock-out style test of endurance in October when it holds the Red Bull Steeplechase.
The 22.8-mile race will see runners eliminated at various stages if they finish in the latter part of the field.
The 500 competitors are split into two categories – male and female – and will face four ‘steeples’, with the slowest section of the field knocked out each time.
At the first knock-out, 160 men and 160 women will make it through to the next stage. At the second knock-out, 90 men and 90 women will make it through and after the third knock-out only 20 runners will remain from each category.
