The June issue of AW focuses on what lies ahead this month for the athletes who are looking to qualify for the Olympics.
Four-time Olympic champion Mo Farah is among them and the 38-year-old admits he is facing the toughest challenge of his career as he attempts to defend his 10,000m title on the track. First, however, he will have to fight off some stiff competition from a generation of hungry young British athletes at the official trials in Birmingham.

This month also sees the staging of the Müller British Championships, which doubles as the Olympic trials for the British team. There is much to look forward to around the competition in Manchester but the clashes over 800m and 1500m, on both the men's and women's side, are particularly mouthwatering. Two-time Olympic champion Seb Coe outlines why there has been such a resurgence in British middle-distance running and also recalls the night, 40 years ago, when he broke the 800m world record in Italy.
We also speak to British 100m champion Imani-Lara Lansiquot about the sprinting scene, while hammer thrower Chris Bennett openly talks about the mental struggles he has had to battle with on his journey through the sport.
Our resident Statto, Steve Smythe, also highlights the most prolific British champions in history.

It's trials time in America, too, and a lot of attention will fall on young sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson as she attempts to reach her first Olympics. We profile the 21-year-old who is being viewed in some quarters as the most exciting sprint talent since Usain Bolt, while coach and former Olympian Mark Coogan offers his insight on the high stakes pressure involved in making the American team.

There are also exclusive interviews with 2017 4x100m world champion Danny Talbot, 50km history-maker Des Linden and a performance section packed with training insight, advice and product reviews.

With all of the other usual features, news and opinion, this is an issue not to be missed.
