The sign said “Beware of bears, stay in your car”. That’s fine if you have a car but on Big Red!?
We were riding through a national park in Canada. Beautiful day to be on the bike, cruising along and about to cross a bridge over a stream. Cars are banked up with people out taking photos when we see everyone scramble to get back in their cars. A wild bear is strolling across the bridge. Too late to turn around. The pillion in a million grabs at the camera that sits on my hip. The bear gets closer and is eyeing off the fresh meat behind their doors and windows. The bike, being a little different, grabs his attention. I snick it into first gear and tell the pillion in a million to get ready to take off. The bear nonchalantly looks us up and down, licks his lips and — moves on.
