Backyard & Outdoor Living  |  Issue#12.4 2014
When designed right, a garden can be a wondrous place for a child. It can be a space for exploration, adventure and play. The key is to design a garden with flexible spaces, and to ensure it’s a design that can be easily adapted as the children grow. A garden can also be a place where adults play. If you’re a golfer, you don’t need masses of space to have a backyard putting green, but if you do, a tennis court can provide hours of fun. Of course a deck is an asset in any backyard. Even a small deck can give you somewhere to relax in the open air and enjoy the warm weather. Or a paved area, by the pool or beneath a pergola, can provide an appealing place to entertain or unwind. We cover all of this, and more.
