We take a lot of things as a given – our cutlery is made from steel, our t-shirts from cotton, and our toothbrushes from plastic. But Dan Dicker is thinking outside the box with his range of eco-friendly, home and garden products, which are made from materials which would otherwise go to landfill. Dan, tells us more about his company, ashortwalk, and his vision of a circular economy.
We design, make and manufacture products from recycled materials and waste – but we also work with other companies by analysing their waste and looking for ways we can make it into new products. It all started 15 years ago when I was working as a product designer for Dyson, and my wife and I decided to fulfil our desire to move to the coast – hence the name ‘ashortwalk’ – as we wanted to be close to the sea.
