10 ways to be kind to animals
Kirsty Grace on how to show compassion to our furry companions
Animals are authentic, honest, selfless and willing to share their unconditional love. They are judgement-free, always there for you and, unquestionably, your biggest fan. They rely on you for their care and kindness and, since they have no voice to speak with, they help you become a better human by teaching you to be a good listener as you have to become more attuned, gentle and perceptive to their needs and wants. Animals look to you for their daily care, so it is essential you act as their voice in times of need. Like people, animals respond well to kindness. Here are some easy ways to show them love.
1. Enjoy play time
Just like humans, animals need physical activity and mental stimulation to feel at their best. One guaranteed way you can bond with an animal is to join in and play with them every day. The possibilities are endless – you could take your dog to the park with their favourite toy, or you could find a feather and encourage your cat’s playful side. They will soon anticipate these exciting activities and possibly even begin initiating playtimes with you in the future.
