Kyler Murray just knows how to win. He was three-time state champion at the highest level of Texas high school football with a 42-0 record. When he transferred from Texas A&M to Oklahoma, he sat behind Heisman winner and No. 1 NFL draft pick Baker Mayfield. When Murray got his chance to start in 2018, he bested Mayfield’s previous season, passing for 4,361 yards, rushing for 1,001 yards, and accounting for 54 touchdowns. Of course, Murray also took home a Heisman and was the top pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
The Arizona Cardinals were a laughable team at the time, ranking dead-last in yards and points in 2018. Kliff Kingsbury was ushered in as the new head coach, and the team traded quarterback Josh Rosen whom they drafted in the first round just one year earlier. Arizona has gone from 3-12 in 2018 to 5-10 in 2019 to 8-8 in 2020 to double figures in wins in 2021. That’s an impressive turnaround.
