Test Lab l Canyon Launches in Australia

THE CANYON BRAND comes out of Koblenz in Germany and has been operating since 2002 with road and mountain bikes gaining a strong foothold in the market. The brand is owned by one man, Roman Arnold. With a greenfield operation to construct and the rise of the internet in years just preceding he and his brother Frank chose a direct model of distribution rather than traditional supply into retailers who on-sell to the public.

Long and low the Aeroad CF SLX 9.0 SL on review here is Canyon’s wind cheating option, an aggressive looking machine, built for speed, while the Ultimate with reach a few millimetres shorter, and stack 23mm higher, is more the allround and climbing rig. The Aeroad’s short headtube and Canyon’s H11 cockpit with integrated bar / stem combo and the cleanliness of hidden cables (and even hidden Di2 junction box) all add to the fast look.
