Where the carp have no names!

Well, last month’s issue certainly went down a storm – another sellout issue!
I’ve got to admit, we’ve had some pretty good stuff in the mag this year. The mystery of the uncaught is certainly causing quite a stir and this month we’ve loads more of that, including a fantastic diary piece from Ed Betteridge who gets taken to one of these ‘special’ venues with none other than Mike Scott who wrote the short piece, with loads of photos, last month. Even Keith Jenkins’ piece features an awesome unknown 42lb mirror, so it’s really catching on.
Ed’s diary makes fascinating reading this month with loads of wall climbing, fence scaling, belly crawling and covert operations. Although very exciting, it’s not without its downside as ‘sleeping on the floor with a big slug on my face all night’ can’t be that much fun! But so beautiful, never before caught scaly monsters was the upside, so well worth the slug-slime moustache, in my opinion.
Speaking of Keith’s Made in England piece this month – it’s a belter. ‘Carp fishing liars exposed’ is the controversial theme, which was sparked off when last month someone reported catching three forty pound mirrors from the Thames. Not even in a lifetime – this guy reckoned he’d caught them all in the same afternoon! Keith’s an excellent writer and now exposes the other carp frauds in our midst. Shame on you all! Keith’s piece also shows all the latest big carp catches this autumn with some fantastic photos of about twenty forty-pluses, topped by a 59lb 5oz beast of a linear – definitely not to be missed.
