Big Carp’s on a bit of a roll at the moment, and it’s been a great year all in all. Every issue has been praised for its content and quite rightly so because its monthly lineup of writers has been extraordinary in 2013.
We have exclusive diaries from Terry Dempsey, Sean Leverett and Ed Betteridge; a Rotary Letter written by Lee Jackson, Dave Lane, Jamie Clossick, Jon McAllister, Leon Bartropp, Sean, Ed and me, and other exclusives from Dave Mallin, Mike Jones, Jo Green and Steve Mogford to name only a few, not to mention our comprehensive catch reports and incredible Made In England roundup.
This year saw our 200th Issue in March and our sales in the news trade double! Issue 200 contained the Who’s Who of carp writers including most of the above, topped off with Andy Little, Kevin Nash, Terry Hearn, Chris Ball and Robin Dix.
It was not the 200th issue that caused the biggest stir believe it or not, but our last issue the ‘Off The Beaten Track Special’, which only contained ‘off the radar’ captures. We had literally thousands of messages from not only the UK but as far away as the USA extolling its virtues. So a massive thanks goes to all who sent their prize catches in. Please send in any future ones; we would love to see them, and I assure you that the readers of BC feel nothing but respect for your efforts. An even bigger thanks goes to the river lads who are already doing some follow up pieces for future issues.
