BIKE Magazine  |  January 2021
With lockdowns getting stricter across the world, many of us have been finding it harder to get out and about on our beloved bikes. But it hasn’t been impossible! Even though some of us have resorted to doing the lying down bicycle and sticking on a video of mountains in the background. No? Just me?
Fortunately, this month’s contributors have a little more imagination and are telling us about their experience on real bikes! To warm us up during this bitter time, we hear memories of cycling across the beautiful country of Uganda, whilst also getting a taste of one person’s adventure the wider African continent. We also find out what it’s like around the Pyrenees right now as well as sticking a bit closer to the UK with a story all about the Tour De Yorkshire.
Of course, it’s always nice to
know we are not alone in our misadventures and we hear how people have been coping with shorter bike trips. One cyclist even takes up investigation into why
the group ride is so important and why, even despite the pandemic, it seems group riding is diminishing. We get some training advice to get us ready for our next long trip and we even have a twist of feminism in this issue.
It might be cold outside, but along with a little bit of sunshine poking through the clouds, we also have these brilliant stories to warm us up!
