Solihull put on a show, writes Ken Myatt
SOLIHULL’S second of the season at the Ivy Leaf social club in Birmingham had 11 contests, which provided the spectators with a good night of amateur boxing. The senior bout between Conner Walsh (Solihull) and Lewis Jones (Birch Green) was one of the best of the night, with the talented Walsh getting a unanimous verdict from the judges last month.
The highly rated Faye Marshall (Great Wyrley) was given a hard three rounds by the tough Demi Phipps (Solihull) before getting her arm raised as the winner. Last bout of the evening was a super-heavy contest between Tom Jones (Solihull) and Daefon Nanton (D&A). In the first round Nanton landed two great right hands to the chin but the game Jones came storming back in the last two rounds to get the verdict.
