This contemporary renovation of a 1970s dwelling has enabled the current occupants to enjoy impressive views of the surrounding Kent landscape. The original aesthetic of the architect-designed dwelling was inspired by destinations the previous owner had visited around the world. Laid out around a spacious central courtyard, only a single storey of the house is seen from the road. However, upon closer inspection the structure rises up another two levels at the rear, unlocking graceful, scenic views of the coastline behind.
Glazing specialists DWL windows were called in to add a modern twist to this unique property. In order to achieve this, sleek aluminium sliding doors have been installed alongside expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. This new setup takes full advantage of natural illumination, while the choice of high-spec products helps facilitate the dwelling’s outstanding thermal performance. The lightweight aluminium frames of the fenestration offer sustainability and durability credentials, plus will look brand new for many years to come. The owner specified stainless steel bar handles to complete the modern look.
