We are delighted to welcome the talented off-grid spoon carver, Giles Newman as a new writer. He commences his series of articles with an introduction of how it all began and how in a period of 18 months he has achieved such success with over 45 thousand Instagram followers from around the world. Keeping with the theme of wood, Ben & Lois Orford show you how to make wooden tongs to use at home or in the woods. Jason Ingamells commences a new series on the UK’s Iconic Trees starting with the Ash Tree.

I would also like to welcome Naomi Walmsley from Outback2Basics who commences her series of articles looking at primitive skills, read her first article about cooking with your bare hands. We are delighted to welcome back Pablo with his first in a series on using your senses in field craft.

Do you wish you knew your knots better? Well Craig Fordham shows you how in a photographic step-by-step guide to some simple but very useful knots to use when putting up a tarp. I am often being asked what bushcraft kit is necessary to start out with, Paul Kirtley has specifically put this article together to allow us to consider our kit requirements carefully.

Grant Neale has reviewed sleep systems and he showcases knife-maker Ross Douglas’ talents. Don’t forget to enter the competition to win a knife or a Snugpak Hammock Under Blanket and Bushcraft Quilt. I hope you enjoy reading the feedback and comments from the visitors at The Bushcraft Show 2016 as much as I did and don’t forget to grab your early bird discount code in this issue.

And as always there is so much more…
