A seasonal celebration of our favourite way to spoil friends and family at Christmas, with cake! Nothing captures the magic of the festivities like a homemade and hand decorated sweet feast, so put on your favourite Christmas songs and enjoy creating future family traditions.

We have delicious recipes for you to bake and box as gorgeous gifts, show stopping decorated cakes that make the perfect centrepiece on the big day as well as soul warming comfort food to make for your own baking pleasure. Turn to page 77 and fully embrace the hygge (pronounced HUE-gah and meaning warm and cosy, a feeling of well-being) with a little Scandinavian baking to whet your appetite for the big bake off that is, Christmas.

For budding cake decorators we have plenty to tempt you, perfect roses on page 42, adorable mice on page 15, elegant ganache and gold work for NYE on page 19, we even have a Prince Tribute cake on page 46, that shows you how to recreate Danielle Gotheridge’s famous wrap technique and much, much more!

If you have children wanting to help, Britt Whyatt’s Pretzel Christmas Tree cupcakes on page 27, will keep them occupied whilst you crack on, in fact we are expecting to make several batches of these over the holidays as they look so moreish!

We have thoroughly enjoyed putting this issue together, all the sweet elements for a perfect Christmas and that is exactly what I wish you all… a perfect sweet Christmas and very happy new year!
