Cake Decoration & Sugarcraft Magazine  |  May 2010
This May I have decided that it is time to have a look at general Celebration Cakes, and largely prompted by my postbag I asked 3 of our contributors to see if they could find some inspiration for a cake suitable for that perennial problem, the male of our species, particularly as Father’s Day will be upon us shortly.

Further championing the case for womanhood is a cake to mark the Girl
Guides Centenary. And before the arguments start, although the Girl Guide movement was born in September 1909 when a group of young ladies turned up at Britain’s first Scout jamboree and demanded entry, it wasn’t until 1910 that the first Girl Guide troop, “Miss Baden-Powell’s Own”, was formed. As a former Brown Owl, I really hope the year-long celebrations for the organisation continue to go well, and as with any celebration, there should always be room for a cake.
