Restored ring netter Jasper chugs on

A painstakingly restored wooden fishing boat dropped anchor in Carradale recently.

Originally a ring netter, Jasper, powered by what is now a rare Gardner 6L3b 18.103 litre diesel engine developing 172 bhp at 1150 rpm, was built by A Noble and Sons for M and E McDonald and launched on March 4, 1968.
