Torrential rain terrorises Dunaverty Open golfers

Dunaverty’s July Open was plagued by torrential showers until midday.

In order for the games to continue, the greenkeeper had to intervene by clearing rainwater from the 14th green.

Despite the weather, 80 men and 23 ladies braved the elements and some excellent scores were recorded.

The scores were very close in both the men’s and ladies’ handicap sections, with winners being decided on the last six holes in each section.
