COUNCIL tax frauds uncovered by a pair of Argyll council investigators has led to the team being made permanent.
Argyll and Bute Council’s Corporate Fraud Investigation Team (CFIT) recovered almost £80,000 in its first year, from October 2015.
The officers are responsible for investigating revenue and benefit fraud, council tax, non-domestic rates and other corporate fraud, as well as acting as being a single point of contact for ongoing housing benefit fraud investigations.
