Passengers from the Saga Pearl II cruise ship, many from the drought-hit south, were amazed by Kintyre’s garden colours.
At Peninver’s An Ceardach garden, owned by Christine and Livingston Russell, visitors from the ship, which docked for about eight hours on Tuesday, saw a vista of flowers including hydrangeas and lilies in full bloom.
Mrs Russell said: ‘At Saddell Abbey the mermaid carved on one of the grave slabs would have been at home on the wet day.
