AMONGST the performers at Saturday’s Big Ceilidh was none other than Robert Robertson, who had this tale to tell in his latest Glasgow Letter for The Oban Times… Myself and the Tide Lines boys made the long journey by road from Glasgow to Campbeltown for a gig called The Big Ceilidh that turned out to be very good fun indeed.
Sizeable production
On arrival in the Wee Toon, we sound-checked and then headed out for dinner. Our sound engineer joined us for our meal and, half way through his chicken burger, he commented that The Big Ceilidh was, as the name suggests, a sizeable production, considering there were five acts due to take the stage.
