Argyll and Bute Council, in its annual exercise of making what they call their policy savings, lists 32 options to save in excess of £1.8m.

I was a member of the council for 22 years. It was always the tactics of the administration to nominate ‘unthinkable’ options and withdraw them days before the budget meeting in response to public outrage.
