THE SIX winners of the Business Gateway Argyll and Bute competition to win a trade stand for a day at the Best of the West festival have been announced.
Now in its fourth year, the competition invited local businesses to pitch by sharing what is special about their venture and why their products would be a good fit at the festival. The businesses selected to showcase their products in the Business Gateway- sponsored craft tent this year are - The Puffer Food Company with its range of preserves; The Divine Hag, offering hand crafted aromatherapy sprays; Mummy’s Sew Crafty with a range of handmade children’s clothes and accessories; Sea Harr Houses which creates unique little houses and figures using driftwood, recycled wood, material and felt; Woolyhatz, with knitted and hand crocheted hats, scarves and gloves; and Annie Pins, with a range of textile quilts, bags, purses and bunting made from Harris tweed, linens and vintage fabrics. Held at Inveraray Castle on September 9 and 10, the festival is set to attract thousands of visitors and locals alike. All the winners are delighted to be taking part and are looking forward to a successful event.
One of the winners, artisan food producer The Puffer Food Company, is based on Easdale Island and sells a range of luxury, award-winning preserves throughout Scotland. Founded by Keren Cafferty, its range of jams, chutneys and confectionery are produced from the kitchen of the award winning Puffer Bar and Restaurant.
