Fiddlers add strings to their bows


FIDDLE players from Arran and Nova Scotia competed to see who could move their bow fastest and with most precision at MOK Fest’s trad night.

Arran’s Gillian Frame certainly wasn’t second fiddle when she jammed with Wendy MacIsaac from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Add in piping sensation Finlay MacDonald, guitarist Jenn Butterworth, piper Lorne MacDougall with vocals and clapping from Arthur Johnstone and Ross Kennedy and it made for a potent mix as the traditional night in the Heritage Centre last Saturday reached its climax with two encores.
