Beautiful Kintyre blossoms transform 1790s church

Nimble-fingered supporters of a Kintyre cancer charity filled A’Chleit church for a biennial flower festival.

Last Thursday, the first day of the The Mairi Semple Fund event, more than 100 people toured the show of more than two dozen displays.

Their £5 admission, which included tea and cakes, plus some additional donations, helped to raise at least £500 the first day. As the Courier went to press the final figure, including last Friday and Saturday was not available.
