Thick fog threatened the second day of The Campbeltown Open but it was soon burnt off by blazing sun at the height of summer.
A Mach Dunes spokesperson said: ‘The recent 2018 Mach Dunes contest coincided with the peak of our great summer, which obviously made for fantastic golfing conditions.’
The competitors made the most of fast running fairways and greens. They had been watered enough to make them more receptive than might have been imagined and good scoring was possible.
