Islay man’s sentence deferred

An Islay man who head-butted a police officer will be sentenced at Campbeltown Sheriff Court’s July sitting. Scott Kevin McGurn, aged 24, of 11 Bayview, Port Ellen, appeared from custody on Monday in Campbeltown Sheriff Court.

He pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable by lunging towards him and striking him on the head with his own head, in the car park of Islay Hospital, Bowmore, last Saturday.
