Mayday call

A ROYAL Air Force single-engined training aircraft landed safely at Machrihanish last week after a 20-minute mid-air ordeal when its engine seized up.

Two RAF air traffic controllers talked down the stricken aircraft after it made a mayday call from 12,500 feet.
